SURPRISE SNOW STOPS SOUP SUPPLY SHOCKER!!!

HAVE A SOUPER CHRISTMAS AND A NEW YEAR!

Christmas arrangements have forced Souperman to suspend his usual soup supply service. Normal service resumed on Friday 7thy January.

Keep keen and alert to news of an inventive soup production in 2011.

BUTTERNUT SQUASH AND PARSNIP SOUP.

Sunflower seed Granary bread, onions, butternut squash, parsnip, mixed fresh herbs and S&P.

Sorry about the lack of wipe situation!

(This is Owen's dish he had another 'double dip' with a cabbage and broccoli soup.)

As the keen eyes amongst you have already spotted, Souperman and his beautiful side kicker, Shazam, went mobile again due to the snow and ice. We were warm.

SOUP OF THE WEEK - SPICY SPROUT AND CELERY

Onion, celery, sweet spud, sprouts, salt, pepper and Korma spices.

A wholesome, warming concoction that has hints of a curry!

The Parmigiana and sun dried tom bread was lovely but we should have had Nan bread instead.
Mave said - Is it nameless. It's like a curried soup"
Owen said - It's Korm again soup!
Shazam said - Be careful, it's hot!

SOUP OF The week -- Warming Winter Vegetable.

SHOCK NEWS THIS WEEK!

Your intrepid Souperman braves the snow drifts and goes mobile.

This week the Friday dinning experience is transferred to Oldcastle Avenue.

Celery, Purple Majesty spuds, onions,cabbage, parsnip, thyme, pre soaked Sainsbury's Country Soup Mix of barley, split peas etc., veg Oxo, lots of pepper and the magic WS!

I realise it looks like vomit and a house brick but let the lab rats speak....

Mavis - It's everso hot

Owen - I've caught a purple bit! By gum it's good!

SOUP OF THE WEEK - Spicy tom. or Cabbage and spud.

It was time to empty some of the frozen soup hidden in the depth of the freezer - pot luck!

Mavis said = "Has it got a name? The soup is lovely...as per."

Owen said = "One soup is hotter than the other. The viscosity if different."

Sharon said = "Oh ! have I got two?"

SOUP OF THE WEEK -- Leek, garlic and spud.

Soup plus a dash of Worcestershire Sauce and a finger of fresh from the oven granary.

Leeks, garlic clove, onion, spuds, Joe's chilli olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, salt pepper and a little milk.

Mavis said - Has it got a name? I was educated/ brought up on soup
Owen said - Parsnip? The strangest soup we have had is Orange
Shazam said - Oh, this is lovely. Crumble next!

SOUP OF THE WEEK -- Broccoli and Lentil Soup

MAVE = "Has it got a name? Verdun? "
OWEN = "I have no idea. It just tastes good."
SHARON = "Do you like my new boots?"
This weeks soup contains; broccoli, shallots, garlic, green lentils, spuds, fresh parsley, parmigiana, salt, pepper and a stock cube served with home made granary bread (pudding - Sharon's apple and rhubarb crumble).

You know that moment when you are lazily strolling down your local high street, or quietly dozing in the library when you catch the wiff of an over heard conversation - just a snippet? I call them "overheards" and have collected them for years.

Here are the latest;

*One woman to another;; "Well, I'm not waxing it!"

*Irate man on mobile; "Until you return the power washer, the divorce will not go through!"

*Giggling girls; "And he ate both!"

*Spray tanned woman;"Well, I had it in my hand this morning".

MAVE'S RANDOM THOUGHT OF THE WEEK!

21. I was hammering a nail in the kitchen, Mave the Rave commented "Are you playing a drum or making a sandwich?"

20. When told Robin had lost over a stone in weight, Mave commented - "That could be true or he's no good at maths!"

19. When Big O said, can we order some peas please, Mave asided - "That alliteration is too much - one or the other is enough!"

18. "We have so much Marmite we are starting to paint the kitchen with it!"

17. In the middle of a conversation, Mave interrupts with; "What are you talking about? Did I miss a page?"

16. "You can never take your legs for granted."

1. Sharon " Do you like the dates in the pudding?"

Mave "Depends on who they are!"

2. Mavis is reading about collecting Daily Mail tokens for a Royal Doulton Royal wedding plate, then comments "Collect 50 tokens! I may not last that long! By the time you have them all, they'll be giving the plates away on the Stones!"

3. Mavis "What does pedantic mean?"

Owen explains in great detail.

Mavis "That's boring".

Owen "I am boring"

Mavis "Taken as read!"

4. Sharon, reading a clue to a cross word, "Another word for ancestry ?

Mavis "Funny name for a tree!"

5.Mave talking about hairdressers; "Never have your hair cut when the hairdresser is in a mood. You could be his next victim!"

6. Reading Vogue magazine; "You'd catch a chill if you wore a hat like that!"

7. We were talking about an Italian meal we had with J&Gem in Manchester, Mave said; "Vermasilly comes into my head - an improvement some say!"

8. "The soup has a lovely constituency(sic)......... (pause)................... now, that's a word that always sounds good in company!"

9. "Funny thing clouds - you can do nothing with them."

10. Talking about her worn carpet ; "The problem is, people are light fingered!"

11. When asked how she was, Mave replied; "Half well".

12. When asked if she would like a chocolate ginger biscuit, Mave replied; "If we're off work tomorrow we'll know why."

13. Talking about family sayings, Mavi spoke these words..."Don't rub your belly by a cows cheek".

Owen's was "Strong tea isn't good for weak heads" says it all!

14. Owen points out again the silk Lillies; "They always look the same." Mave replies "The same as what?"

15. Passing a hand car wash, Mavi comments; "Did you see that sign for where you can was your hands
