MIXED VEGETABLE CENSORED

Your Soupmaster is aware that children sometimes view this amazing  blog. This week the photograph of the finished blend has been censored as  it was such a startling colour (or queuelore as M will have it) it would scare the horses.
Her instead is a picture of my new pet.
PS.
On Saturday Phoebe and a couple of pals came for lunch and ate soup.
I can reassure you that our future is secure, safely in the hands of these three!
They have immaculate taste!
Note the bread selection.

FROZEN SOUP REVIVED!

We are off to Edinburgh tomorrow so the soups this week are pot luck from the freezer.
As usual big O straddled the debate of which to have and plumped for both - Double Dip tastic!
Actually, if you stare at the picture of the soup above, the face of Elvis appears!!! Owen failed to spot this and ate the lot!
ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BOWL!

BIG NEWS THIS WEEK - THE LAUNCH OF "Mymothermademewearthis" Gem's range of baby fab wear! CLICK on the link below to see the web site Joe made for her.

CAULIFLOWER AND STILTON

A rather rushed blog this week as I'm keen to finish the jigsaw puzzle called an - 'Simple, self assembly lean to green house - moderate DIY skills needed'. By moderate, I expect I fall short in the Phd department as there are over 100 nuts and bolts in the kit that all seem to have a life of there own - that is not in my garden.
Any way, back to the soup, or as Mavis puts it - "Tastes like nothing I can put my finger on!"
Artistically decorated by a drizzle of TSTCBN.

PARSNIP AND APPLE

Following weeks of outrageously coloured soups this week sees us return to the, what has become famously known in the soup world as, 'THE BIG SOUP TIN'
This week the magic tin has created this:
(those with 20/20 would have already spotted one of  Sharon's world famous white chocolate scones just in front of  TSTCBN).

LETTUCE AND SPINACH SOUP - UMM STRANGE...

The other night I had a dream about making a soup (as you do) out of leaves - so this week I have done just that (+onion).
The new pressure cooker worked well on the mixed lettuce leaves, spinach, spud and onion.

The party at chez #1 in full fling.
In your face, non brown, GREEN soup.
Next time I will add 2 spuds and an apple.
Post soup R&R. Mavi relaxes in her new throne.

POST HOLIDAY SOUP BACKLOG CLEARANCE!

ROYAL REMINDER JUMP-STARTS THE SOUP REVIVAL.....
Loyal readers may have noticed a slight pause in, what has become lovingly known nationally as, 'THE' soup blog. Not just a few dedicated followers, least one, a doctor, has contacted our busy call center (24h/ 365d/ 360o "we are here to support your every soup need") and reminded one of our dedicated volunteer phone operatives of the Soupmaster's commitment to soup  heritage, world peace and wise words that calms the nation in these stressful times.
So, like the Dove from Above your hero lowers himself  down into your world to deliver this message....
"Loyal subjects and fellow Americans, I have returned from my humble international tour, supporting our boys on their mission to invade Sandiago de Compostbin. I can now safely say  "I have walked The Way" (for at least 1/2k, but was cruelly diverted by an inviting 12 euro lunch menu - it taught me about temptation... yum).
Now I'm back, and the blog rolls on like an out of control despot's speech."
(Well done  Anne, you are no wussy when it comes to yomping - respect!)

ROAST CELERIAC AND GARLIC SOUP

ROAST RED PEPPER AND SPUD SOUP
I hope Soupee Mr Trellis of Acton notices the subtle tonal change (I stirred the tin).

SOUP THOUGHTS FROM ABROUD!

Just to let you know that Souperman, is on a fact finding exploration of central Spain! Although this looks like a holiday it is in fact an in depth, research based study of all forms of local cakes and soups! To prove this below is a snap of a local soup from the Segovia region.....
A garlic and choritzo based dish with the inclusion of bread and poached egg at the last minute. The official taster recorded an 9 out of 10 on the international scale. I also include a strange dish of the week I enjoyed.......

We at Souperman Towers are delighted, nay, honored to welcome the patronage of  The Royals. Yes, THOSE Royals!! Even though they are snowed under opening RSVPs, folding paper napkins in the shape of crowns and working out how few bottles of british Cava they can get away with - they still found time to make a soup for the Soupmaster to try. They even took cute snaps.

MORE LIKE A LOBBY!

Lack of spleen = no!

NO-SHOW SOUP!

This week your Soup Captain and his keen crew abandoned ship and spent the night in Manchester with J& the lovely Gem watching a gig by Emily Barker in a crowded back room of a quaint pub- The Castle Hotel. We thought it was raining, but it turned out that it was condensed sweat dripping down on us - YUK!!
The gig was superb as was the fried African plantain we had at a ( I cannot truly call it a restaurant) bar in the cellar of a shop. The food and African beer was out of this world.
Real soup story next week...................

LIFE THOUGHTS

LIFE THOUGHTS
An occasional pause to consider others philosophy on life in general. This week, Sharon's friend Kate's husband - "What doesn't kill you makes you weak". If you have a burning desire to share your own personal life compass, feel free to email the Soupmeister and a select panel of eminent life coaches will consider it for inclusion. "Life, don't talk to me about life.." Marvin 1976 The image above is a sign seen on the slow train to London last week - NO LEAPING BABIES ?

OWEN'S QUESTION OF THE WEEK.....

11. "When did bras start to be worn?"

1. "How long is a full wash cycle on an Indesit washing machine? I must time it."

2. What are the Twelve Days of Christmas?"

3. "What is the drome north of Barmouth?"

4. "What are native Greenlanders called?"

5. "As much as is now known, what is the truth about Jesus Christ?" (Over to you Robin!)

6. Why on earth did Canada give away Alaska?"

7. What happens to the material that produces Gall Stones after the Gall Bladder is removed? (Over to the Duffield panel.)

8. What does enervate mean?

9. Is it Iman or Imam?

10. What does amtrack mean?
